Scott O’Laughlin

Scott began his property insurance career in 1997 in Houston, Texas after a leadership figure in his life introduced him to the industry. He has worked for some of the largest insurance carriers in the United States and has successfully resolved claims with Lloyd’s of London, Chubb and Auto Owners, to name a few. He has been involved with every major hurricane since 1997 and has worked numerous large loss claims throughout the United States.

Scott compliments his insurance knowledge with his background in commercial construction. He was Superintendent of a family-owned commercial HVAC company that specialized in government buildings in the Pacific Northwest region. This enabled him to season his skills in the building trades as he was tasked with working with all trades to coordinate the construction of public schools, city halls, prisons, or other government buildings. Scott has extensive experience with wind/hail (tornado/hurricanes), fire losses, flood losses, large loss commercial claims, technical claims involving experts, and builders risk claims. Scott has also performed delicate, complex claim situations, large loss estimating, and commercial loss negotiations for multi-family housing, hotels, and high-rise structures.
